For me, volunteering for the Caravan became a necessity. A need to help, a need to learn, a need to interact, a need to connect. Here the doctor-patient relationship is different than in the hospital. I owe a lot to this family. Here I found mentors. Here I remember why I chose this profession, and why I came to love it so much.
